Individual Psychotherapy (Adult)
Our psychotherapy services incorporate elements from cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, insight-oriented therapy, as well as neuropsychological and physiological principles. We provide uniquely-tailored care drawn from clinical and research experience to each individual in order to help maximize their full potential and provide practical “real-world” applications.
Our main aims during individual psychotherapy are to promote optimal development and cultivate a growth mindset. These main developmental and growth parameters will have different “real-world” goals for each individual. For some individuals, psychotherapy during this time will be focused on maintaining stability and gaining a measure of meaning they want from their own lives within the context of world events.
For medical professionals, psychotherapy may focus on dealing with stressors that you sometimes feel should be “routine” given your training, but at times appear to be insurmountable.
We utilize clinical and research experience in neuropsychology to help guide you through some of the changes post-injury. Based on the individual, we can incorporate various strategies including a focus on optimal development.
Our services are “solution-focused” and therefore, all services are geared towards achieving “real-world” changes. We integrate neuropsychological (brain-behavior) principles, along with psychological (emotion regulation and behavioral) principles in collaboration with you to develop a continually evolving and expanding set of strategies that you can apply to optimize your response to situations.
